Carolina Shores residents question FEMA flood maps

CAROLINA SHORES — Residents sprinkled town commissioners with questions before the board approved Federal Emergency Management Agency flood maps at the July 12 town meeting.

Beacon Townes resident Bill Steuernagelasked about ramifications on people who bought in the community.

“What about the rest of Carolina Shores?” he asked. “Is this a ticking time bomb?”
Other residents in The Farm at Brunswick had concerns about how the maps will affect them and costs.
