BOLIVIA— The solemn, ceremonious notes of a lone bagpiper drew hushed responses from guests gathered to remember and honor those courageous New York City firefighters who perished in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center 18 years ago.

Leading a procession of Fire Department of New York Carolina Retirees Association members and Brunswick County officials, bagpiper Kevin Mulholland set a reverent tone prior to the Wednesday, Sept. 11, memorial service set in the Brunswick Community College Victory Garden.
