  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Property damage on Goose Creek Road and N.C. 179; suspect used vehicle to damage the 14th hole of Brick Landing Plantation’s Golf Course.

    •Breaking and entering and larceny on George II Highway in Winnabow; suspect damaged glass on door leading to victim’s garage.

  • Month-long investigation leads to drug arrest

    After a month-long investigation, agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit arrested a South Carolina man for trafficking drugs into North Carolina.

  • Burglaries, thefts in Sunset Beach during Thanksgiving holiday

    SUNSET BEACH—Police investigated a number of burglaries and thefts reported during the Thanksgiving holiday period and weekend.

    On Nov. 25, a Tom Tom GPS navigation system was reported stolen from a motor vehicle parked at Duncan Place.

  • SHALLOTTE CRIME REPORT

    Shallotte police charged the following people and investigated the following incidents during the past week. The information is taken directly from police reports.

    •Police charged Timothy Duane Martin, 54, of 811 Martin St., Wilmington, with driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and left of center in the Hill’s parking lot. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $2,000 secured bond.

  • Ocean Isle Beach Crime Report

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department investigated property damage reported on Nov. 15. According to the police report, a window was broken at a house on East First Street, but nothing inside appeared to be missing.

  • Drink machine break-ins reported in Sunset Beach

    SUNSET BEACH—Police are investigating two incidents of soft drink machine break-ins reported Monday.

    Machines at Food Lion, 1771 Clippers Way, and Dollar General, 1633 Seaside Road, were broken into sometime overnight.

    Unknown subjects pried open doors on a drink machine at Food Lion but money was left in it, Sunset Beach Deputy Chief Steve Smith said.

    The front of another machine at Dollar General was broken. It had not yet been determined whether money was taken.

  • SHALLOTTE CRIME REPORT

    Shallotte police charged the following people and investigated the following incidents during the past week. Information is taken directly from the police reports.

    •Police charged Timothy Alfred Gaskill, 43, of 1510 Shady Rest St., Shallotte, with driving while impaired and DWI habitual. He was at the intersection of Main and Wall streets. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $10,000 secured bond.

  • OCEAN ISLE BEACH - CRIME REPORT

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department investigated reported property damage on Craven Street last week. According to the police report, the suspect hit three mailboxes with its vehicle.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office ACE roundup

    The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is a support unit, whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county. The ACE team conducts driving while impaired and driver’s license checkpoints, as well as street-level investigations on controlled substances.

    The ACE team works with the sheriff’s office K-9 Enforcement Team and Drug Enforcement Unit to apprehend narcotics suspects as well as saturating hot spots where criminal activity is reported.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office K-9 roundup

    The K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.

    From Nov. 9-15, K-9 deputies patrolled the following areas: Holden Beach, Crow Creek, St. James, Magnolia Greens and Brunswick Plantation.

    K-9 deputies conducted checkpoints at Brooklyn Street in Navassa and Beach Drive.

    The following suspects were charged:

    Phoebe Renee Hulon, 35, of 4479 Sweetbay Drive SE, Southport, was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
