  • Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office drug report

    Agents with the Brunswick County Vice Narcotics Unit charged the following suspects:

    •Andrew Bernard McNeil, 25, of 106 Hankins Road, Southport, was charged with possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Drug agents, along with sheriff’s office K-9 officers, found the marijuana and drug paraphernalia after executing a routine traffic stop, which led to seizure of the drugs and paraphernalia.

    Drug agents searched McNeil’s residence, where they seized digital scales with cocaine residue and additional drug paraphernalia.

  • Shallotte man wanted for drug charges

    Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Unit are searching for Williams Anthony Daniels, who is wanted for multiple drug violations.

    Daniels, 19, of 1392 Hale Swamp Road, Shallotte, is has been charged with felony possession of cocaine, simple possession of a schedule V controlled substance, possession of one-half ounce or less of marijuana, simple possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Daniels is 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds.

  • Year-long drug investigation nets multiple drug arrests

    WINNABOW—After a year-long investigation, agents with the Brunswick County Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested several residents of the Winnabow community for multiple prescription pill distribution charges. 

    On Friday, March 4, drug agents served search warrants at four different locations regarding this case, code-named “Family Tradition.” 

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Shoplifting, larceny and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance on Holden Beach Road in Supply; suspect stole various items that belonged to the victim.

    •Breaking and entering, larceny and property damage on Old Ferry Road in Supply; suspect cut copper tube, entered buildings and stole copper tubing and a wall-mounted clock.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office ACE Roundup

    The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is a support unit, whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county. The ACE team conducts driving while impaired and driver’s license checkpoints, as well as street-level investigations on controlled substances.
    The ACE team works with the sheriff’s office K-9 Enforcement Team and Drug Enforcement Unit to apprehend narcotics suspects as well as saturating hot spots where criminal activity is reported.

  • Shallotte Crime Report

    The Shallotte Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from police incident and investigation reports.

    •Devin Bruce Roberts, 22, of 2137 Trout Avenue, Supply, was arrested for failure to appear for possession of marijuana. Roberts was arrested while being investigated for misdemeanor larceny at Walmart when an active warrant for failure to appear was discovered. A citation was issued for the larceny, and Roberts was arrested.

  • Medicine drop-off scheduled in Ocean Isle Beach

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department and the Ocean Isle Beach Municipal Fire Department are hosting Operation Medicine Drop from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 20. The drop will take place at 111 Causeway Drive in Ocean Isle Beach, on the corner of Caseway Drive and Rick Street.

    Everyone is invited to drop off expired or unused prescription and over-the-counter medications, which will be properly disposed.

  • Ocean Isle Beach Crime Report

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department investigated the following incidents last week. All information is taken directly from police incident reports.

    •Carl Wallace Spragins, 61, of Smithfield; charged with hiring with intent to defraud after he did not pay for taxi fare.

    •Timothy Blanco Simmons, 50, of Shallotte; charged with shoplifting after leaving Walmart without paying for items.

    •Joshua Paul Hardee, 27, of Southport; wanted on state charges and charged with driving while license revoked.

  • Thefts reported in Sunset Beach

    Sunset Beach police investigated the following incidents reported in the past week:

    •On March 7, a resident of Old Oak Lane reported a bank check had been uttered and forged. The woman said a man had come to her home to give her a price for fixing a hot tub. She wrote him a check for $129 for parts. When the check was cashed at First Federal in South Carolina, the amount of the check had been changed to $429.

    •A Garmin GPS was reported stolen March 3 from an unlocked vehicle on Medcalf Drive.

  • Break-ins, thefts reported in Sunset Beach

    SUNSET BEACH—Police investigated two separate break-ins and thefts reported Feb. 25.

    •Sometime overnight, glass was broken out of a car on Medcalf Drive. Cash in the amount of $101 in a red billfold was stolen.

    •Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at two condominiums at the end of Park Road. Taken were an Xbox with connector and controller and a Toshiba laptop computer.
