  • Summer concert rain dates set

    Recent rains have led to postponement of some summer concerts in Brunswick County that have had to be rescheduled.

    The Sunset Beach Concert schedule has been revised, with postponed concerts now happening on Sundays at The Village at Sunset Beach at Sunset Boulevard and Park Road North and regularly scheduled concerts proceeding on Wednesdays.

  • Sunset Beach Police Department, Aug. 6-10 2018

    Sunset Beach police investigated the following incidents and made these arrests in the last two weeks. All information is taken directly from incident and arrest reports. 

    Aug. 6

    Peggy Williams, 49, of Clubhouse Road was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Facility and held until sober.

    Aug. 7

    A stolen John Deere Ski Steer was recovered from 826 Live Oak Drive in Sunset Beach. The equipment was reported stolen Dec. 21, 2000, from Mecklenburg County.

    Two kayaks reported stolen from 18thStreet.

  • Calabash Fire Departmen July 2018

    During the month of July, the Calabash Fire Department responded to 188 calls: three structure fires, three woods/brush fires, a vehicle fire, a boat fire, 14 fire alarms, 12 motor vehicle accidents, an investigation, 32 public assistance calls, a mutual aid, two other and 118 EMS first response calls.

  • Brunswick Sheriff’s Charitable Foundation fish fry set for Aug. 23

    The Brunswick Sheriff’s Charitable Foundation will host a fish fry Thursday, Aug. 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the county government complex in Bolivia, in front of the emergency services building.

    This event helps raise money for the foundation’s Sunshine Fund, which supports Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office employees who experience hardship.

    Imagine, if you will, that you go to the kitchen for a cup of coffee. When you get there you find an 8-ounce cup, some sugar, some cream, a box of instant coffee, and a water tap from which to get some water. But, when you turn on the tap, nothing happens. So, you have a problem. No water!
